About the Role:
The successful candidate will possess exceptional pedagogy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for PE and Sport supporting children and young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). While experience with SEND is beneficial, we prioritise candidates with a strong foundation of PE and Sport curriculum knowledge, coupled with a willingness to embrace learning more about SEND and associated therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead PE and Sport, including the PE Enrichment and Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes across all key stages.
* Overall responsibility for sporting events and activities within and external to the school, including Sports Day.
* Provision of whole school and district events that promote and inspire young people to be physically active and lead healthier lives.
* Play a strategic role in quality assuring break and lunch time activities across the school to ensure there is meaningful activities and high levels of engagement, including providing support and training to upskill staff.
* Oversee After School Clubs, supporting the After School Clubs Co-ordinator to ensure that high levels of engagement and impact are evident.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience in teaching PE and Sport.
* Knowledge of SEND, particularly in areas such as PMLD, SLD, or ASD is advantageous.
* A willingness to embrace further learning about SEND and associated therapies.
