Mental Health Youth Worker
A fantastic school in the heart of Wantage is looking for graduates who want to make a difference in supporting vulnerable students.
The school caters for students between the ages of 4 and 16, a nice mix of primary and secondary ages!
They support students who have a primary diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) which impacts the way they learn, communicate, and process emotions.
Children who struggle with ASD also have troubles with their mental health and need support to work through tricky emotions.
The role involves supporting students in the classroom with their education and ensuring they are able to access their learning in ways that are beneficial to them.
Each student has a specific learning plan designed for their needs. You will follow this plan with the guidance of the class teacher.
The school is looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting learning difficulties and mental health needs. They want someone to build positive relationships with the students, creating a safe and engaging environment where learning can thrive.
Previous experience with children is not necessary, but personality is important!
