You will be joining a thriving and extremely supportive team which comprises of 14 Respiratory Consultants across two hospital sites.
We are entering an exciting phase of developing the Respiratory Department, with new services for our airways team, supporting innovation and research into vocal cord dysfunction, breathing pattern disorders and complex asthma. We also continue to improve and expand our Sleep and CPAP services.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of respiratory investigations including:
Spirometry, Diffusion studies, Plethysmography, Bronchial challenge testing, Six minute walks, Muscle pressure tests ( MIPS/MEPS/SNIP)
You will also be responsible for providing support to the Sleep/CPAP Service, performing Overnight Oximetry, Multi -Channel Respiratory Sleep studies and CPAP Therapy reviews and set ups.

Ensure a high standard of technical and clinical competence.
Perform analyse and report all routine lung function investigations within Respiratory Physiology Laboratory including Spirometry, diffusion studies, lung volume measurements, 6 min walk tests and tests of muscle pressure to required national standard.
Perform, analyse and report Overnight Oximetry and Respiratory multichannel sleep studies.
Contribute to the day to day requirements of the Sleep and CPAP service.
Ensure calibration and quality control of equipment is carried out for all procedures.
Assist and support the Lead Respiratory Physiologist in the safe effective management of the department including management of personnel, facilities and associated systems and processes.
Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation
Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager.
Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care
To participate in education and training of junior staff.
Actively participate in research studies.
Maintain and develop own professional competence and seek to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professional practice.
