Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Rural Operative at Garelochhead Training Camp in Scotland. As a Rural Operative you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract. We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant. Main Responsibilities To ensure that the training estate facilities and ranges are fit for purpose and ensure compliance with customer requirements Preventative and Reactive maintenance tasks on training area, rural & built estate Rural maintenance such as fencing, mowing and strimming Forestry work such as removal of fallen trees - training will be provided, cleaning / maintaining culverts, maintenance of tracks and sight lines on the training area. Preparing training areas for use Grounds maintenance Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training will be provided) Manufacturing and deploying targetry Driving and operating fleet vehicles Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights Report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate Handover / take back of facilities and or ranges with service users Utilise secondary skills in grounds maintenance, chainsaw operation, brush cutting, and herbicide application. Perform additional tasks as needed to support the team and the estate. To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems
Knowledge of Health and Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work Knowledge of landscape maintenance and forestry skills Excellent of communicating with customers Basic labouring, caretaking skills Ability to complete documentation Basic IT skills Must hold a Full Manual Valid UK driving licence (essential)
