Job overview
The Orthopaedic team at Southend University Hospital are currently looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the team.
We are a supportive therapy team looking to recruit a physiotherapist with a broad range of experience in core rotations to join our team. The role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the trauma and elective orthopaedic wards and involve providing support to the surgical wards.
This role requires the ability to engage others, with a proactive approach to self and service development. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to a person-centred approach in line with the Trust Values and Behaviours.
Together with the team leaders in our other in-patient specialities, you will support the Therapies Managers in the strategic and operational planning for the service.
Main duties of the job
The role offers opportunities to develop clinically and managerially within a friendly and supportive environment. Training and clinical development opportunities are provided with comprehensive in-service training and regular clinical supervision. We will also support the development of your skills in appraisal management and leadership skills with relevant courses.
Our Band 7 Team Leaders are highly experienced in their fields, providing support and training opportunities for personal development.
The role includes the supervision of students from the University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire and the mentoring of Band 5 Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. The role also includes on-call and weekend working, for which we provide a comprehensive training package.
