Job Title: Bid Manager Contract Dates: 25/09/2024 – 01/04/2025 Location: Chippenham OUTSIDE IR35 Join our Customer Services (Rail infrastructure) team in Chippenham as a Bid Manager In this collaborative role, you will work closely with our leadership team, and work with the wider business to product high quality and winning bids and proposals that directly impact the success of the business. The work you will deliver is important to us. You will oversee the process of creating and submitting bids or proposals for projects within the Customer Services business. This is your role Collaborate with account management team to drive new bids and proposals Work in line with company policies, processes and procedures, ensuring bid governance is in place Manage and update management tools, and report in a concise and impactful way Break down the requirements and coordinate all technical, financial and commercial deliverables Prepare, implement and ensure adoption of bid plans Develop and promote bid and proposal strategy Act as the primary contact and leader for bid and proposal related matters throughout the process Produce and present bid and proposal review & approval documentation to people at all levels Prepare high quality documentation, including learnings and improvements for future bids and proposals Produce compelling and competitive bids that minimise risk to the business Negotiate with the customer Transfer information from the bid and proposal team to the project delivery team Manage related budgets accurately and with transparency Drive efficiencies and improvements in what we do every day This is you A proactive and organised multi-tasker High standard of IT skills and open and able to developing knowledge of new systems Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders in and around the business An approachable team and relationship builder Proven to motivate people and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment Comfortable to direct, influence and delegate appropriately Attention to detail that leads to an excellent standard of work Customer focused; yet commercially aware negotiator Your experience and qualifications so far Ideally, you'll have IEE, MIRSE or APMP qualifications You’ve studied to degree level in a related subject Have knowledge of public procurement and frameworks A background in bid and/or proposal management in an Engineering related business And, it would be nice if you have sector experience in any of the following: mobility, rail, lifecycle solutions, Whole Life Cost management, maintenance, technical support, training, spares & repairs, asset management, cyber security and digitalisation.
