Vestas Technology & Operations > Blades Manufacturing > HSE Blades UK The Appointed Person will report to the HSE manager and be a member of the HSE team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the site's compliance with regulations and best practices within the UK, including LEEA, LOLER, PUWER & BS7121.
* Responsible for the safe planning, preparation, review, and management of lifting operations, including producing and upgrading current lift plans and associated risk assessments.
* Introduce a continuous improvement plan for optimal safety training on lifting operations for all crane operators, acting as a coach, and establish a system for recording competencies ranging from basic to complex lifts.
* Lead improvements in the maintenance and care of lifting equipment, educating crane operators in pre and post inspection of lifting gear.
* Ensure safe use and competencies for users of mobile gantry, overhead gantry cranes, hoists, and review crawler crane lift plans.
* Chair the business crane committee to improve the safety of lifting operations.
* Support the HSE team to ensure compliance and best practices to meet KPIs.
Qualifications
* Several years of experience from a similar position.
* Safety qualification to at least an IOSH standard.
* Excellent working knowledge of regulations and codes of practice related to lifting as defined by BS7121, LOLER, and PUWER.
* Trained in NPORS N401 or CPCS A61.
* Train the Trainer qualification is preferable.
* Lift Supervisor qualification preferable, such as CPCS A62.
* Good Microsoft Office skills.
* High degree of numeracy and literacy.
* Knowledge of risk assessment.
* Knowledge of slinging and lifting operations.

Additional information
Location: UK, Isle of Wight. Up to 20 travel days might be required per year, approximately 1 day a month to Southampton and occasional travel to other sites in Europe.
