SEN Science Teacher
Location – Leyland
Permanent Full Time Role
Salary: M1 – M6 dependent on experience
Teaching Personnel have an excellent opportunity to work with an outstanding SEN school in Leyland. The school is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to motivate 9-16 year olds to engage in their lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
* To plan and deliver lessons following a broad and balanced curriculum according to DfE guidance and the school’s policies including reflective practice.
* To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the class and assist in other relevant aspects of the day-to-day running of the school.
* To assess, record and report pupils’ progress according to the school’s policy in order to monitor and foster pupils’ progress in all areas of learning.
* To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
* To lead support and supervision sessions for Assistant Teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistants including Professional Development Reviews.
* To attend and contribute to teachers’ meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, and any other relevant staff meetings.
* To ensure a high standard of personal care for the pupils, carefully monitoring the health and well-being of pupils, informing the care staff, medical staff, behaviour support team, and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.
Qualifications:
* PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
* Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, and ASD.
* Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
* Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
