Rate: GBP £34-39 per hour

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Planner with a background in Electrical Engineering and experience in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) to join our team in Staffordshire. This is a contract role that requires the candidate to work 100% onsite. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the project schedule, managing risks, and ensuring timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the single project schedule, representing the entire project by integrating inputs from all functions, units, and third parties.
* Ensure proper linkages in the schedule to show all interdependencies between contributing parties.
* Challenge the project team to ensure schedule risk is managed and aligned with historical performance while maintaining a competitive offering.
* Ensure functional owners sign off on their commitments and are held accountable for their deadlines.
* Collaborate with the overall project planning team to align the schedule with the overall project timeline.
* Maintain the schedule throughout the project lifecycle, obtaining inputs from all project contributors.
* Facilitate regular status reviews with the project team to assess schedule status and operating rhythms.
* Analyze and forecast potential schedule risks and opportunities using available tools and expertise.
* Provide “what if” scenarios to optimize project execution and evaluate their feasibility.
* Generate look-ahead, backlog, and future late reports to clearly communicate risks and prioritize actions.
* Drive functional owners to mitigate risks and ensure follow-up on risk mitigation actions.
* Provide strategies to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
* Provide regular status updates and contractually required customer reports, communicating directly with customers on scheduling matters.
Key Skills & Requirements:
* Electrical Engineering background with direct experience in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) systems.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret data and forecast outcomes effectively.
* Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in Primavera (or similar scheduling tools).
* In-depth understanding of cost management and scheduling in a project environment.
* Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex project schedules.
* Ability to manage project risks and provide effective mitigation strategies.
* Strong collaborative skills to work with both internal and external teams, ensuring alignment with global standards.
