JOB PURPOSE
As a Senior Finance Analyst at Burberry, you will be supporting the Senior Finance Manager to deliver accurate financial planning and analysis globally. This role focuses on finance and commercial analysis within our Corporate Functions, including Human Resources, Corporate Affairs and Finance. Key to this role is leading the development of budgets and forecasts across these areas, and solid partnerships and excellent communication with various stakeholders will be integral to achieving success.
This Senior Finance Analyst role is offered on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months. This role will be based in our Queen Street, Leeds office for 3/4 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure processes are in place for month-end close ensuring all journal entries and accounting are accurately completed.
2. Preparing and reviewing management reports to ensure accuracy and insight in line with business requirements (actuals, forecast, budget).
3. Developing financial modelling and insights to inform and support review of business functions, looking at everything from value creation, headcount analysis, productivity initiatives and others where necessary.
4. Coordinating, reviewing and evaluating the development of global plans, budgets & forecasts (including tracking of R&O) ensuring the most profitable allocation of resources through financial insights.
5. Supporting the business with strong budget control.
6. Leading on forecasting of headcount costs, including reviewing of actuals and HR updates on a monthly basis.
7. Business partnering with the corporate functions, developing a strong partnership to provide financial analysis, be able to challenge appropriately and give insight on commercial finance matters and strategies.
PERSONAL PROFILE
1. Previous experience in a financial analysis-focused role, ideally with budgeting and forecasting tasks in a large commercial business.
2. Part qualified/Qualified accountant (CIMA /ACA /ACCA).
3. Excellent Excel Skills.
4. SAP, BPC reporting preferable.
5. Fluent in English (both written & spoken) essential; any other language skills useful.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to engage and influence a wide range of personalities in an articulate manner.
7. Commercial acumen.
8. Proven ability to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
9. Some business partnering experience preferable.
