The post requires a talented Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who can take the lead in supporting the children’s personal targets and promoting positive behaviour. Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months experience working with young children with SEND or within the care sector. You will need to feel confident within a classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher. Role Overview: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students' individual learning journeys. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting the class teacher with classroom preparation and organisation. Providing specialist support to students with SEND, tailoring approaches to meet their specific needs. Leading group work sessions to enhance collaborative learning and social skills. Supporting the class teacher with pupil observations and contributing to the development of individual education plans (IEPs). Person Specification: Confidence in a classroom setting and the ability to take direction from the class teacher. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting student development. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
