About the Role
The Midlands Graduate School ESRC Doctoral Partnership (MGS DTP) and the Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence (CADRE) are currently seeking a DTP Coordinator to support the smooth running of key functions within the DTP. This role involves working on a wide range of financial processes, advising on student funding opportunities, and providing high-quality administration for postgraduate students and staff across both teams. The role will contribute to the day-to-day running of both programmes and embed effective integrated working across both teams.
The successful candidate will primarily liaise with the PhD student cohort in relation to expense claims, funding applications, conferences, and events. A working knowledge and understanding of Financial Regulations, preferably in a University setting, is essential.
Other essential skills needed for the post include excellent administration and organisational skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and a solid knowledge of Microsoft IT packages. Effective prioritisation is crucial as the role will support multiple colleagues across two busy teams.
This is a great opportunity for an individual seeking to extend and further develop their skills in an academic environment while supporting postgraduate researchers across the Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities.
About You
You will be educated to A level (including GCSE level grade C or above in English and Mathematics) or equivalent, with experience of working in an administrative role. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to organise a busy and varied workload to agreed deadlines while working flexibly as part of two busy teams. Excellent attention to detail, a sound knowledge of IT packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook), and prioritisation skills are essential for the role.
