Finding innovative solutions and using all available community resources will be the key to success within this role. You should be passionate about community wellbeing and motivated to help establish a new charity or coop to ensure the continuation and further development of the service.
Part of this post will be to liaise with liveArgyll and other community wellbeing providers, utilizing their facilities to deliver community based strength and balance and education classes as well as supporting generic health improvement services, with the same community based assets such as leisure and sports facilities. As well as working alongside the physiotherapy teams you will have access to support and mentoring from a number of sources and a personal development plan, including business development for the proposed new venture.
This role will play a key role in the future development of the project, we welcome people embedded in their local communities, keen to develop future models of service out with statutory NHS services and we will be looking to explore the development of social enterprise and future income generating models to support long-term sustainability. As such we would also welcome enquiries from existing independent practitioners who would be interested in developing the model in different ways.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
