We have an excellent opportunity for a Fleet Manager to join our head office in Wakefield.
Working in partnership with the business, you will manage the fleet of cars and vans owned, leased, and rented by Sharp UK. Key responsibilities include sourcing and procuring new vehicles, disposal of vehicles, ensuring high service levels are maintained across the business, and running the function in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Travel to other sites is required, a driving license is essential, and a car allowance is provided. We offer hybrid working, based on 3 days in the office, 2 working from home.
Main responsibilities:
* Lead, develop, and implement the Fleet strategy, policies, and processes across Sharp UK to support the delivery of effective and efficient fleet operations.
* Support business-wide change projects for improved cost efficiency.
* Communicate with all stakeholders including Fleet Providers and Insurance Brokers and organise the appropriate provision of Fleet vehicles for Drivers.
* Ensure that a fleet of vehicles is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations including the management of fines and penalties.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services ensuring that the vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules are managed effectively to minimise downtime.
* Monitor Driver behaviour, recommending areas for improvement, and taking appropriate action where necessary.
* Maintain and monitor the fleet budget and ensure the best value is maintained with a focus on improving cost efficiency.
* Effectively communicate business policies and requirements to staff and external suppliers to ensure business requirements are met.
* Develop a procurement strategy for the group in respect of purchasing/renting/leasing cars and vans.
* Ensure that all fleet-related and driver queries are dealt with quickly and effectively.
* Manage interface with our insurance provider, ensuring claims are managed effectively, and losses minimised.
* Provide appropriate service responses in accordance with business KPI’s.
* Update and maintain fleet databases on Sharp and 3rd party portals and spreadsheets, including the Sharp Salary Sacrifice Schemes.
* Produce fleet-related data and reports for key internal stakeholders.
* Forecast the ongoing demand for cars and vans.
* Drive innovation in the procurement/supply chain.
* Negotiate contracts and service agreements with suppliers, ensuring procurement sources are secure and sustainable.
* Research options to source best value vehicles and carry out comparisons to ensure we are receiving the best value.
* Research opportunities to introduce greener vehicles across the fleet.
* Forecast price trends and predict how they will affect Sharp UK.
* Run tenders and evaluate bids before making commercially relevant recommendations.
* Continually improve delivery of fleet objectives and Sharp policy giving value to stakeholders and a positive driver experience.
* Arrange replacement and disposal of damaged and older vehicles as well as manage an effective ‘fleet pool’ as necessary.
* Ensure on/off hire process is managed effectively and damages/losses are recovered.
* Manage fuel cards - develop processes to ensure accurate records are maintained.
Requirements:
* Experienced Fleet Manager, managing owned, leased, and rented fleet across multiple sites.
* Experience working in partnership with managers, able to successfully motivate, engage, and drive change initiatives to maximise Fleet efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ability to provide thought leadership and consultancy for Fleet priorities including senior stakeholder management and influencing in line with business priorities.
* Experience of Fleet management lifecycle including dealing with fines, DVLA, insurance, Fleet Providers, and garage services.
* Skilled at working with business leaders and senior stakeholders. Ability to communicate with colleagues throughout the company including the Senior Leadership Team.
* Excellent interpersonal skills - able to manage, influence, leverage persuasion, and negotiation to build effective relationships.
* Solid negotiation skills to successfully handle purchases and contracts.
* Able to communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view on complex issues, and create a concise summary.
* Highly resilient with proven organisational skills to cope with a fast-changing environment and multiple concurrent tasks.
* Ability to translate strategy into practical solutions for the business.
* Strong team player, willing to roll their sleeves up and get the job done.
