Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our excellent Band 6 rotation. You will have the opportunity to rotate through: Major Trauma, Neurosurgery, Neuro Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Stroke, Emergency Assessment Unit, Aging Complex Medicine & Community Stroke & Neuro Rehabilitation. We are delighted to have a new addition of Critical Care to our rotation specialities. You will work closely with MDT colleagues to enable the best possible outcomes for patients.
You will be well supported by the experienced band 7 OT & Physio's in the teams to provide OT assessment & intervention, along side supervising junior members of the team.
You will work closely with community colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from hospital.
The OT department will support your professional development & your contribution to the development of our service will be valued.
Main duties of the job
You will work as a band 6 OT who rotates across a wide range of specialties to provide you with a wide range of learning opportunities. You will assess & treat patients to enable them to be discharged from hospital to their own homes or to an appropriate rehabilitation setting.
You are required to work at pace, have a sound understanding of the complex medical, physical, cognitive & psychosocial needs of this patients.
You will provide supervision, support & training to junior members of the team & will also receive this from our highly experienced band 7 OT's.

Qualifications
* BSc / MSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Post graduate training relevant to rotational
Professional Registration
* HCPC registration
* Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Significant post registration NHS experience of working across core clinical areas including managing medical, surgical, neurological and mental health conditions
* Evidence of a wide clinical theoretical knowledge base
* Experience of working as part of an MDT
* Evidence of supervising junior staff and students
* Evidence of contribution to service improvement / development
* Evidence of CPD
