Job Title: Defendant Clinical Negligence Associate
Location: Southampton (Hybrid)
Overview:
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Associate to join the clinical negligence team at a leading international law firm. Our client is renowned for its expertise in defending complex and high-profile clinical negligence claims for a diverse range of healthcare clients, including NHS trusts, private healthcare providers, and medical insurers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing a caseload of complex clinical negligence claims from inception to completion.
2. Assisting senior associates and partners in handling a caseload of more complex matters to include brain injuries and birth injuries.
3. Drafting legal documents, preparing instructions to counsel, and advising healthcare clients on liability and quantum.
4. Attending court hearings, settlement negotiations, and mediations as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Qualified Solicitor, 4-8 years PQE.
2. Previous experience of managing a clinical negligence caseload. Defendant experience is preferred but candidates with a claimant background will also be considered.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
5. Passion for working with healthcare clients and an interest in the evolving nature of healthcare law and patient safety.
