The Parent and Baby Unit is looking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Lead. The post is full-time and permanent and will support the team based in Stoke on Trent.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Team Manager in delivering a high-quality perinatal mental health service for service users experiencing a deterioration in mental health in the perinatal period. The role involves providing clinical leadership within the team and management support, deputising for the Team Manager in their absence. The post holder will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary framework, providing training and staff development, specialist assessment, clinical support, and time-limited interventions to service users. They will act as a source of expertise and point of contact within the team, demonstrating highly specialised communication skills and problem-solving abilities when prioritising risk.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Facilitate regular meetings with individuals/ disciplines to inform and update them on clinical and strategic quality issues.
2. Disseminate ongoing progress and broadcast successes through all communication channels including practitioner forums, newsletters, bulletins, supervision, etc.
3. Develop key working relationships across primary and secondary care and with other relevant agencies.
4. Attend and contribute to the work of local strategic and working committees and groups.

Job Responsibilities
1. Act as a positive role model for the discipline through the demonstration of strong leadership skills.
2. Provide support and advice in the clinical area to optimise quality improvement opportunities, working alongside individual practitioners in the clinical area, particularly where practitioners are experiencing difficulties.
3. Analyse and respond to complex clinical situations utilising specialist knowledge to assess a range of options to formulate solutions and recommendations.
4. Act as a change agent, using skills that will motivate and reassure staff through negotiation and training to facilitate the change process.
5. In conjunction with other clinical leads, facilitate collaborative working between disciplines.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* A relevant Nursing or Allied Health Professional (e.g. Occupational Therapy/Social Work) degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Experience in the development of professional roles.
Knowledge
* Proven ability to challenge current practices and make changes in light of evidence-based recommendations.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year pro rata, per annum.
