Job summary This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist to be part of the clinical delivery and leadership for orthopaedic patients within the Conquest Hospital and their transition into the community. Your primary roles will be to: enable clinical continuity to improve clinical standards, care pathways and the patient journey manage complex clinical care in partnership with individuals, patients and carers utilisation of specialist orthopaedic and discharge skills be an integral member of the MDT increase job satisfaction by assisting with supervision and training for the staff and students within the service The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Associate Practitioners and Therapy Assistants. Main duties of the job To undertake assessments and coordinate and provide Occupational Therapy intervention to facilitate a safe discharge for Trauma and Orthopaedic patients. To undertake specialist clinical Occupational Therapy, including work requiring particular expertise or ability. To promote integrated, multidisciplinary working practices that supports a seamless transition of care. To support the Team Lead Occupational Therapist, Professional Occupational Therapy Lead and Service Manager with service development, helping to implement policy and policy changes and to set and monitor standards of practice. To support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Occupational Therapy Team in optimising patient flow. To work flexibly across acute services as needed.
