We're looking for a Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for our students at a school in Rochdale. As the Head of Year, you will be responsible for providing pastoral support and guidance to a designated year group, ensuring students thrive both academically and personally. You’ll work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote student well-being, support behavioral development, and ensure the overall success of the year group. Key Responsibilities: Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, offering advice and support to overcome personal challenges. Monitor and track students' progress, attendance, and behavior, ensuring any issues are identified and addressed. Liaise with parents and guardians to support students’ academic and personal growth. Organise and lead student-focused initiatives and events, including assemblies and extracurricular activities. Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the needs of the year group are met effectively. Ensure a positive and respectful atmosphere, encouraging good behavior and academic achievement. What We’re Looking For: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents. Experience in a pastoral or mentoring role, ideally within an educational setting (although not essential). Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting students’ welfare and personal development. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
