We have a vacancy for a Cook to work as part of the Hotel Services Team at the 11 bedded inpatient unit in Lincoln.
You will be working as a member of a small team who work both together and independently to ensure that patients, staff and families visiting are catered for with good quality wholesome freshly cooked food.
The post holder will be required to work on a rota basis (mornings and/or afternoons) there is a degree of flexibility in shift patterns which can be agreed upon commencement. Morning shift is from 7:30- 3pm the later shift begins at 10:30 am till 7pm. The current working pattern is on a two weekly rota which includes working every other weekend. Uniform is provided.
Although this team work primarily for inpatient unit requirements, there is a growing need for catering to support meetings held at other sites. (prepared at the inpatient unit)
We strive to provide good quality meal choices which are served throughout the day.
Although the demand for catering can vary day to day, the quality and standard of food served reflects the professional care which patients are receiving. Cooks on duty support menu planning, ordering, deliveries, meal preparation and cleaning. Our kitchen has a 5 * food safety rating.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Either City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent vocational qualification (e.g. NVQ level 2), or experience of work using fresh ingredients to produce homecooked wholesome products.
2. A current Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is required.
References and DBS checking is undertaken prior to employment
Contract: Permanent
Hours: up to 30 per week, 7 shifts every 2 weeks with an expectation to fill vacant shifts where necessary to accommodate the contracted hours. The post holder will be required to work on a rota basis (mornings and/or afternoons) there is a degree of flexibility in shift patterns which can be agreed upon commencement.
Pay: £22,613 per annum pro rata
