A new opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager for our client based in Essex, who specialise in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Logistics.
The role of the Business Development Manager is to identify, build and develop relationships with potential clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions to secure ocean, European intermodal, European road & air opportunities.
You will generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing contacts.
Duties of the Business Development Manager:
* Liaise with the operations team to develop comprehensive proposals and pricing strategies and to ensure they are kept informed of client plans and challenges which are being faced.
* Regularly meet with clients to maintain relationships, ensuring excellent levels of communication.
* Negotiate contract terms and conditions, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
* Deal with all invoice customer queries within a timely manner.
The successful Business Development Manager will have strong Sales / Business Development experience within the Freight Forwarding industry.
Skills and experience required:
* Good Commercial awareness
* Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with a persuasive and consultative approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build lasting relationships with clients.
* Good level of IT knowledge - able to use Excel and Outlook.
