Job summary As a management lead for the specialty area of Obs and Gynae, the post holder will be working in triumvirate with the Service Manager, Matron and Clinical Service Leads (CSL) to actively promote a culture of care which reflects Somerset Foundation Trust's values and leadership behaviours. Key responsibilities will include ensuring delivery of performance, guaranteeing robust governance arrangements are in place and strategic demands on the services are met, whilst being effectively responsive to day to day operational demands. The post holder will be working flexibly alongside colleagues to ensure a cohesive cross county service. Main duties of the job Providing positive and inspiring leadership to teams within the services in order to maintain and develop a culture and environment that allows our front-line teams to deliver the best possible standards of clinical care. Responsible for the monitoring, reporting on and responding to, in liaison with appropriate clinicians, the departments performance. Performance includes but is not limited to, referral to treatment waiting times, diagnostic waiting times, outpatient performance targets, and other performance measurement as required. The postholder will work to the Matron/CSL to support systems within the clinical specialty, in line with the trust policies, procedures and ethos to ensure that acceptable standards of safety and quality are maintained and improved, alongside ensuring sound arrangements for clinical governance. Line management responsibilities for the administrative service team leaders and will ensure regular 1-1 supervision are undertaken through the administrative team and career conversation are held yearly.
