We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Specialist Practitioner to our Children's Neurodiversity Front Door Team and Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity for Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurses, Social workers, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals with an equivalent registration to develop their skills within a transforming Children's Neurodiversity Service.
The Front Door Team currently works at the screening and triage stage of an Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) referral made by professionals to ensure the child or young person is supported to access the right pathway and support. The Assessment Team carries on this process until diagnosis.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have strong engagement skills, excellent communication skills and some experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and professions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate specialist clinical skills to deliver evidence-based screening and triage of Autism and ADHD referral forms including assessing and managing any risk and providing support/advice to young people, their families/carers and professionals involved in their care.
They will also aid with the assessments for Autism and ADHD and be part of the Duty rota.
They will lead/supervise and facilitate clinical discussions with junior staff on a daily basis.
The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week split between the 2 teams.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in Professional qualification equivalent to RMN, Registered Social worker, Occupational Therapist or equivalent AHP
* Professional Registration with the HCPC/NMC or equivalent
* Autism and/or ADHD Diagnostic Qualifications
Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
* Evidence of development of specialist clinical skills relevant to the role
* Experience of working with Children & Young People
* Experience of working with a Neurodiverse population and more specifically Autism and ADHD
* Experience of working with individuals with emotional and mental health needs
* Supervision of students
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area
* Knowledge and understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
* Knowledge of Autism & ADHD, standardised assessments and their use in practice
