The Role:
Provide a high standard of food service to hospital patients, staff, and patrons of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH). In accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and guidelines, assist with food preparation, production, plating service, ware-washing, and cleaning duties in the provision of catering services to patients, visitors, and staff of the hospital.
* Assist in maintaining a high standard of food preparation, production, service, meal distribution, ware-washing, and cleaning of the hospital service areas and in accordance with the relevant codes of practice.
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
* Responsible for cleaning and sanitising all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and walls as directed by relevant supervisors and in accordance with relevant guidelines.
You will need to:
* Able to work as a part of a team but also as an individual.
* Able to work in a busy environment safely and with focus on patients' needs at all times.
* Have a working knowledge of food safety preferable.

* LGH Food Services provides meals to over 300 patients daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) 365 days a year.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part-time, shift worker position, working 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join the team.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $57,130 to $59,443 per annum, pro rata. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
