Job Title: Autocad Technician
Salary: £25k-£35k
Location: Brighton, BN1
Do you have good Autocad knowledge? Would you be keen to join a small specialist structural design firm in Brighton where your ideas really count, with a real opportunity to develop and grow?
The work is niche, non-traditional design engineering within the construction industry and would suit a candidate keen to develop skills in both Autocad drawing and software automation.
You must already be fully proficient in Autocad 2D and familiar with creating dynamic blocks. An interest in coding would be useful.
As well as offering design services, this firm also develops and markets their own web tools to unlock efficiencies and streamline processes. They are constantly evolving and updating, so the role would suit a creative and dynamic individual interested in the development of new standards, tool building, optimization, learning, and development.
An interest and experience with Trimble Sketchup would be highly desirable.
You will be mentored closely by two very experienced Structural Engineering Directors who have lectured at universities, advised on BSI and construction committees, and love to mentor. The role will include contributing to live construction projects and the development of in-house tools and software.
The role is for the first employee of this growing practice, so it is a key appointment, and the firm plans to grow further in the future. The practice is very flexible, and the role could even be on a 4-day-a-week basis if required. Some days to work from home could be allowed if desired in the longer term. A laptop is provided, along with a very generous holiday allowance, training budget, regular CPD, beer fridge, socials, flexible hours, and paid OT (if required).
You would need to live within commuting distance of Brighton. The offices are in a really nice open-plan shared workspace, with plenty of social activities, secure cycle parking, showers, free fruit and snacks, close to the train station and other amenities of Central Brighton - a great place to work!
The firm does not hold a visa sponsorship license.
