We are looking to recruit an experienced Bid Manager (Project Manager in Preconstruction) to join our Wales and West team based out of our Exeter office and embrace our core values of customer service, quality, and a thriving company culture.
As a Bid Manager at Willmott Dixon, you will successfully project manage the post qualification bid process from launch to handover to the delivery team. We are open to applications from people who have solid experience in Design, Planning, Estimating, or Operations who would now like to use their skills in managing the important preconstruction phase of future projects.
The Project
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the bid team/process in all aspects of the submission.
2. Producing high quality qualitative bid submissions on time within budget.
3. Effectively coordinating and leading bid team contributors' input.
4. Providing and implementing creative ideas and initiatives into bids.
5. Assessing technical and complex bid requirements, controlling and shaping the bid proposals.
6. Liaising with the client team to effectively portray our service offering.
7. Providing de-risked, profitable, compliant, and affordable bids in line with Willmott Dixon's strategic objectives.
8. Managing the production of accurate, well presented bid documentation for tenders.
9. Creating and leading client presentations.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
* Superb demonstrable standard of written and spoken English.
* Excellent standard of resource planning.
* Full membership or relevant professional body.
* Full membership of secondary technical professional body.
Technical or Operational
Proven experience of:
* Leading the bid process.
* Complex technical schemes.
* Dealing with diverse technical output.
Information
Proven experience of:
* Reviewing and assessing bid enquiries.
* Creating and writing effective bid submissions.
* Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
People
Proven experience of:
* Leadership in client team meetings.
