SEN Teaching Assistant North Tyneside (Full Time) £350-450 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) January 2025 - ongoing (long-term role) The School and Role This ‘Good with Outstanding Features’ SEND school, based in North Tyneside, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 on a full-time basis. Working in this EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school as part of an established team, the desired SEN Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, ADHD, PMLD, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This full time SEN Teaching Assistant role is long term from January ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person. You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions. Requirements The desired SEN Teaching Assistant will have; Relevant Level 2 Qualification is desirable but not essential: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant / Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care / Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning / Level 2 or 3 Childcare Experience of working with EYFS. primary, secondary or Post-16 school aged children. Experience of working with SEND pupils. A passion for the progress of SEND pupils. Ability to work as part of a team.
