Mainstay Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented, innovative, and technically skilled professional to fill the role of Automation Technician. As a key team member, you will identify, develop, and maintain automation solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce manual workloads across the organization. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and the AI Team to implement intelligent process automation solutions.
Adhering to Mainstay’s high standards, the Automation Technician will play a critical role in integrating AI and automation into business processes, ensuring stability, security, and effectiveness. Success in this role means having strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex automation concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
What you will be doing
* Identifying automation opportunities by collaborating with internal teams, the AI Team, and partners to document high-impact, repeatable tasks.
* Developing automation workflows in Mainstay’s RPA platform for tasks such as new user onboarding, Microsoft 365 audits, and service-related processes, incorporating AI enhancements where applicable.
* Integrating workflows with third-party tools and services (e.g., via REST APIs) while exploring AI-driven data analysis or decision-making opportunities.
* Prioritizing development efforts based on efficiency gains, balancing implementation complexity with the potential hours saved.
* Ensuring automation reliability through rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with stakeholders to refine automation strategies and align them with business objectives.
* Maintaining documentation for all automation solutions, ensuring clear version control and process transparency.
* Monitoring automation performance and analyzing data to optimize workflows over time.
* Staying current with automation trends and best practices in AI, RPA, and process automation technologies.
* Advocating for automation by educating teams on best practices and opportunities for workflow improvements.

Qualifications and skills
* Minimum of two years of professional experience, preferably in an IT Service environment.
* Experience with automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, REWST, or similar RPA platforms).
* Strong understanding of REST APIs, data integration, and workflow automation best practices.
* Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, networking concepts, and cloud-based services.
* Experience with AI-enhanced automation or data-driven decision-making tools is a plus.
* Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize automated processes.

Location
We believe in Work-from-Anywhere AND in the value of in-person relationships. We provide nearly unlimited flexibility to work remotely, but we do hold team meetings and all-staffs in person. We also maintain a beautiful office in Manchester, NH and a satellite office in Laconia, and we encourage each team member to choose their own balance of home and in-office work, that maximizes wellbeing. We do encourage all teammates to come in weekly, but it is not required. Applicants must live within driving distance.
