About the Role
Supporting the Site Manager to ensure are works and activities on site are performed in a safe manner and that a positive Health & Safety culture is developed and maintained on site. The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, ongoing management of the site health, safety and environment management plan. Ensuring that all site activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory and corporate, and Site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion and integrate safety initiatives into daily operations.
* Promote employee engagement and maintain a safe workplace.
* Develop and manage the site-specific health and safety plan.
* Lead HSE campaigns, audits, and incident investigations.
* Maintain compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
* Oversee HSE activities across the project and supervise teams and contractors.
* Ensure proper documentation and compliance with HSE plans.
* Lead risk management, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings.
* Collaborate with head offices on progress and initiatives.
* Conduct site inspections and approve subcontractor safety plans.
* Investigate HSE incidents and ensure timely corrective actions.
* Track and resolve HSE-related actions.
Experience & Qualifications
* 10+ years of HSE experience, including with WHSQ and OFSC.
* Degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field with construction/high-risk environment expertise.
* Strong understanding of Principal Contractor responsibilities.
* Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.
* Analytical problem-solving skills and decision-making capacity in high-pressure environments.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
