Salary Grade F Points 14 to 19 (£28,624 to £31,067 Full Time Equivalent) subject to pro rata. The minimum actual pro rata salary per annum for this job starts at £24,729.11.
St Wilfrid’s Academy are looking to appoint a HLTA to join our academy in April 2025 on a full time, permanent basis.
Do you want to work for a Trust that is transforming educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas in the North of England? If so, this could be the role for you.
Your new role
As a HLTA, you will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist them in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. You will supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. You will provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising your advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes and to encourage pupils to become independent learners. You will provide support for pupil welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life.
Please see the attached job description on our website for the essential criteria and more information about the role.
Your new school
St Wilfrid’s Academy is an all through (KS2 to 4) alternative provision that provides high quality assessment, education and support for children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to access mainstream curriculum education and require a bespoke package. Our educational offer combines a core curriculum with a range of vocational packages to support students successfully into post 16 pathways. Alongside our academic offer, we also provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions to aid students with their emotional and mental wellbeing and reengagement with education. If you are interested in working within an inclusive school, supporting the most vulnerable students to reach their full potential, St Wilfrid's offers this opportunity.
The latest Ofsted grading (December 2019) showed the school to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ Personal Development, and St Wilfrid's Academy won the IQM 'National Champion of Inclusion Award' 2023/24.
