We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Somercotes team in the position of Maintenance Manager.
Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:
1. Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
2. Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
3. Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
4. Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
5. Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
6. Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
7. Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
8. Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
9. Establishes and maintains a maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
10. Prepares reports, analysis/data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
11. Supervises all maintenance personnel.
12. Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
13. Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
14. Assists with hiring of temporary maintenance personnel to cover holidays or peaks in demand.
15. Initiates and carries out projects that improve plant efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
16. Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, etc.
17. Maintains Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
18. Coordinates/communicates maintenance activities with the appropriate production departments.
19. Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices within the wider business with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
20. Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering of spares when necessary.
21. Assists site management in the implementation of H&S, Environmental, and Quality aspects of the operation to meet and/or exceed legislative requirements and Company standards.
22. Actively supports and participates in the development and improvements in the Sustainability performance of sites.
23. Ensures that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard to protect the company assets.
24. Ensures that where possible, manufacturers' guidance maintenance procedures are followed.
25. Liaises regularly with management & other site departments to ensure we maximize site performance.
