About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a dynamic team, providing expert fire safety leadership and ensuring compliance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant health and safety legislation.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying fire-related risks across a diverse property portfolio, overseeing remedial actions, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. This role involves working closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to maintain high standards of fire safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct fire risk assessments (FRAs) and FRA reviews in line with fire safety legislation.
2. Design, oversee, and manage fire safety improvement works, ensuring compliance with fire regulations.
3. Audit and monitor contractors' performance, conducting pre- and post-inspections of fire-related works.
4. Act as a technical expert, advising on fire safety solutions and ensuring the effective delivery of both minor and major fire safety schemes.
5. Provide technical guidance and training to housing staff, contractors, and consultants on fire safety and FRA processes.
6. Liaise with external agencies, including Building Control and the Fire Service, ensuring compliance and best practice.
7. Prepare cost analysis, expenditure forecasts, and contract evaluations to assess financial risks related to fire safety projects.
8. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of fire safety strategies, policies, and procedures.
Key Requirements
1. Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments for complex residential properties.
2. Strong knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Approved Document B (ADB), and associated fire safety guidance.
3. Expertise in construction methods, active and passive fire safety measures, and the preparation of fire-related specifications.
4. Experience in overseeing investment schemes and monitoring works on-site.
5. Strong ability to liaise with residents, consultants, surveyors, and internal teams.
6. Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and analysis.
8. Full UK driving licence (essential).
Qualifications
1. Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment Qualification (IFE or equivalent).
2. NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate (desirable).
3. Degree or professional qualification in Construction, Building Surveying, or Fire Safety (desirable).
