At Leonardo, they have a fantastic new opportunity for a Digital Engineering Engineer (GCAP).
The opportunity:
Leonardo is recruiting Digital Engineering Engineers for roles on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) project, designing and developing solutions that will sit at the heart of their products within the next generation of military aircraft. Based upon your skills and foundation knowledge, Leonardo will assess where you best fit within the programme and discuss the options with you.
Dependent on the role and phase of work, Leonardo is able to offer some roles that allow hybrid working, although many will require on-site working at one of their UK sites in Luton, Bristol, or Lincoln. Talk to them to discover more.
Due to the nature of Leonardo's work, you must be capable of achieving a minimum of SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. Please see the UK National Security Vetting site for more details.
The Digital Engineering Systems Engineer roles will work closely with national and global Digital Engineering SMEs to develop an enterprise wide Digital Engineering Strategy and Implementation Plan for the Leonardo-designed assets in the GCAP Programme, aligning with the other partners.
What you’ll do:
As part of the Digital Engineering team for GCAP, you will
* Own, develop, and maintain the Digital Engineering Strategy for Leonardo’s areas of the GCAP Programme whilst working closely with the Digital Engineering Product Owner and Chief Systems Engineer.
* Ensure alignment with the overall GCAP and internal Digital Engineering Capability Roadmaps to achieve an integrated, end-to-end Product Development.
* Work with internal business stakeholders such as the Systems Engineering Domain Solution Development to create a target state vision for Digital Engineering based on engineering best practice to support the overall GCAP Programme objectives and internal Leonardo Engineering Strategies.
* Represent Leonardo as a subject matter expert, providing support to industry engagement across GCAP on the wider Digital Engineering Strategy topics. This includes liaising with partners to discuss and influence future ways of working on GCAP and planning a Digital Engineering transformation solution across Leonardo developed areas of the programme.
* Work closely with the Digital Engineering Product Owner and Chief Systems Engineer, planning proof-of-concept and proof-of-value demonstrations to provide confidence that the new Digital Engineering services meet the time and cost goals for the GCAP Programme.
* Work closely with the Digital Engineering Enabler teams to support project implementation and delivery of Digital Engineering services and capabilities into GCAP using a systematic approach.
