In this fantastic role you will drive the performance of our Large Store estate, the heart of the Tesco business, with over 800 stores across the UK. Co-piloting the Large Stores Leadership team to ensure we deliver a brilliant shopping trip for customers whilst making every pound count. As the Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for full breadth of the P&L as well as identifying for opportunities whether that be: driving market share; unlocking operational efficiencies or working on new stores or delivery of new propositions. Co-piloting the Regional Directors to ensure we drive business performance : - Being a recognised business expert and trusted advisor driving performance across full breadth of KPIS (financial, operational, customer and colleague) - Ability to move from big-picture thinking to the detailed analysis that requires an understanding of localised complexities and levers available to drive business - Overlaying commercial acumen on analysis performed by FP&A teams to drive insights and support decision-making - Constructively challenging and recommending changes to the business underpinned by sound financial expertise as well as offering an operational perspective - Spending time out in stores to build and maintain an understanding of store operations with regular interactions with Business Support, Store Directors, and Managers. - Drive performance conversations within RD community and other P&L line owners to drive actions and plans Forward-looking – taking a longer-term view of performance: - Reviewing and challenging business cases, ensuring incremental investments align to our strategic ambition as well as hitting our key capital - Working with the FP&A team to ensure we have the right plans in place that make sense at all levels (stores, regional, format) - Building the format plans and objectives alongside the Retail Directors to ensure we are set up for success. - Building capability in regional teams on how to effectively manage financial challenges and KPIs - Communicating strategic and operational plans to the relevant teams whether that be our store managers, business support teams or channels leadership team. - Taking RDs through proposed budgets, forecasts & performances updates these include signing off regionally allocated KPI (Sales, Payroll, BIG 6) Future proofing our business & looking forward: - Facilitates knowledge management- sharing best practice both within finance and with the business. - Participates in business partnering community across finance. - Adhere to and operates within the internal control guidelines to safeguard companies interests. - Champions cost conscious culture. - Supports function initiatives to drive efficiency within Tesco organisation Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (required) Finance experience in driving strategic priorities in large complex organisations Experience of engaging senior business stakeholders Highly evolved financial analysis skills
