We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary staff by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, ensuring all items are ready for use by chefs.
2. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
3. Thoroughly clean canopies, back splash, fridges, floors, freezers, and cold room.
4. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
5. Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.
6. Support chefs during service by providing assistance as needed, including fetching ingredients or equipment.
7. Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene practices at all times.
8. Assist with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
9. Ensure that when food deliveries arrive, everything is put away in the right place with directions from chefs.
Experience
1. Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment is essential.
2. A keen interest in culinary arts or food preparation will be viewed favourably.
3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
4. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
5. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
