To be part of the Cove team delivering care to patients and their carers, living with and beyond cancer. To provide expert nutrition and dietetic advice to patients, their carers and other health and care professionals, both individually and in groups to support patients manage their own health and wellbeing.
To develop and deliver a dietetic service for cancer patients accessing the Macmillan Cove Unit, specifically focussing on people living with and beyond cancer. Support is provided from diagnosis, throughout the patient’s treatment pathway and beyond.
To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team based in the Cove to contribute to the holistic care of the patient.
To engage patients in the development of the dietetic service at the Cove and continually review and amend the service to meet patient and carer needs.
To evaluate the service, via quantitative and qualitative measures including patient experience.
To work closely with dietetic colleagues in the Oncology Team and wider dietetic department to ensure the work in the Cove complements and is integrated with other dietetic care patients may receive / access.
