Reporting into the Head of Marketing Communications, this role leads the development and delivery of our social and content strategy and annual plan. Working closely with the Campaign Team, this role is responsible for planning and delivering social first campaigns and franchises; engaging and growing our social communities; tracking, analysing and proactively managing Pets online reputation, escalating any potential issues.
This role will also have responsibility for planning and delivering content that amplifies our brand positioning, connects with our consumers and optimises our marketing communications strategy. This role will lead the Social and Content team to deliver the annual plan and KPIs.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead the Social and Content Team to deliver the annual plan and KPIs (4 direct and 2 indirect reports).
* Manages the team budget ensuring plans are always within agreed amounts
* Ongoing development of our social strategy
* Leads the planning and delivery of social first campaigns that support our annual marketing plan.
* Develops social and content franchises that amplify our brand positioning and create talkability.
* Maximise revenue opportunities, commercializing content where relevant and gatekeeping any supplier funded activity
* Develop and deliver our influencer strategy
* Community management across all social platforms (except for CS)
* Analyse and report on performance against KPIs using a number of tools and platforms
* Work closely with agency partners and internal teams to ensure content is relevant, timely, user friendly and fully optimised for SEO
* Develops social activity and content that amplifies our brand positioning.
* Tracks, analyses and proactively manages Pets online reputation.
* Escalates any potential issues and works alongside wider Comms team to mitigate.
About You – What you’ll bring to the role
* Journalistic skills: Able to spot, create and develop content that drives engagement, positive sentiment and talkability/shareability
* Creative: An eye for design and great copy aligned with our brand personality and TOV
* Communication skills: build relationships with agencies and third parties as well as persuade a non-marketing audience, such as senior level managers within the organisation, of the wisdom of proposed plans and activities. Able to influence
* Team management skills: able to lead a group of direct and non-direct reports to deliver social & content strategy and annual plan on time and in budget.
* Analytical skills: Experience using measurement tools and conducting analysis on social and content performance and using it to enhance future plans
* Understanding of social media platforms, community management tools as well as wider digital marketing interdependencies
* Agile approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities/trading conditions, delivering results in a fast-paced and pressured environment and problem-solving
* A passion for marketing excellence and a drive to continually improve and explore the latest trends and innovations
* Experience of using a Content Management System
* Commercially minded with experience of budget control and management
