What we are looking for
Governance Officers play a key role in supporting the effective governance of a school, or a number of schools, within the Trust. They are a trusted and active Governance Professional and the role involves advising TLCs on the delivery of their core functions and ensuring that they operate in line with national guidance, the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation, Terms of Reference, and Trust policies & procedures. Responsibilities include:
1. Organising meetings
2. Collating papers
3. Creating professional minutes
4. Dealing with highly confidential and sensitive items with discretion
5. Maintaining records
6. Governor recruitment and induction
7. Attendance at team meetings and Governance Professional briefings
The majority of duties can be undertaken flexibly to meet deadlines from home, with planned meeting dates set each summer for the year ahead that are usually held at school. The majority of governor meetings and training events are held in the afternoon and evenings, and travel to schools for meetings will be required, although we do offer a hybrid approach to TLC meetings where appropriate. Support and training will be provided both online and in person.
We currently have vacancies in the following areas/schools and applicants can apply for any number of schools available:
* Bathampton Primary School, Bath
* Swainswick Primary School, Bath
* St Saviours Infant and Junior Church Schools, Bath (1 TLC supports both schools together)
