Job overview
You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care of individual patients while undergoing elective and acute procedures in the Cardiac Catheterisation Suite. Delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients.
We conduct procedures which are performed under local anaesthetic and/or sedation and usually require X-ray fluoroscopy. Working in a diverse team, supporting each other.
You will participate in the Patient pre-assessment service, requiring specialist knowledge of cardiology procedures and the ability to apply this to individual patient circumstances. Complicated cases are frequently dealt with, and the implications for the delivery of the best patient care are significant.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care of individual patients while undergoing elective and acute procedures in the Cardiac Catheterisation Suite.
* To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines, in order to deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients.
* These are invasive procedures, performed under local anaesthetic and/or sedation, and usually require X-ray fluoroscopy.
* To work a rota over a 5-day period.
* To provide a 24/7 ‘On-Call’ service as required, once competent to do so.
* To co-ordinate the lab lists once competent to do so.
* To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors, and staff.
* To comply with the Trust’s values and expected behaviours.
