Job Description Traffic Signal Technician
Investigate notified signal faults wherever they occur in the region and take appropriate action to resolve to normal working order.
Undertake duties involved with the installation, replacement, inspection and maintenance of electronic mechanisms associated with traffic signals and other equipment controlling the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
Maintain a database of instructions, schedules, plans and diagrams and similar documentation concerned with the assembly installation and maintenance of traffic Signals.
Maintain a detailed understanding of relevant legislation applied to Traffic Signals Service and liaise with other departments, contractors and public bodies across the region.
Undertake annual inspections including preventative maintenance work where this is cost effective.
Coordinate on site installation works as required.
Responsible for the completion of technical documentation in accordance with departmental requirements.
Maintain operational standards in accordance with health and safety standards, codes of practice and departmental policies and procedures.
