This post is based within the council’s Anti-Poverty Service the successful candidate will work closely with the Advice Shop to promote financial inclusion and alleviate poverty.
Reporting to the Welfare Advice Co-ordinator, the post holder will lead a team of staff responsible for delivering bespoke and financial inclusion related projects as well as targeted interventions for those at highest risk of poverty.
The post holder will be responsible for identifying areas of development and improvement to ensure a
customer focussed service that is responsive to legislative changes and the needs of communities.
The post holder will be required to maintain a good understanding of both the UK and Scottish statutory legislation and guidelines along with local policies and priorities. This post will also collate and analyse local and national information related to poverty helping services to improve the quality and the delivery of services and policies to make them more meaningful and impactful.
Good planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload and deliver tasks and quality work within tight deadlines are essential qualities that are required for this role, as the team leader you will lead and manage the externally funded projects, support the service performance and ensure all management and monitoring information attached to funding is returned to funders. The post holder will also be involved in data led targeted interventions for identified and prioritised areas of Anti-Poverty work, as well as looking at developments and improvements to deliver bespoke projects dependant on national policy changes and local emerging themes.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as there will be a requirement to deliver training and presentations on the findings and developments of the many key aspects of this role.
