Our specialist Risk Consulting team provide services to across our strategic markets:
* Public and Social Sector: We are a major player in the UK public and social sector. Our team provide distinctive audit and advisory services across six sectors – local government, central government, health and social care, housing and charities.
* Financial Services: We provide services to the financial sector. We work with many banks, insurance and asset management companies including FTSE, SEC, privately owned, as well as over 60% of the Lloyd's market.
* Industry & Services: Predominately private sector clients, ranging in size from large and listed multinational organisations, to small owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors throughout the UK and overseas.
About the role
This vacancy is for a specialist in our Public and Social Sector team. An area of growth in the market that we have identified is Change & Programme Assurance, therefore we are looking to find an individual who has strong experience of working on projects/programmes and/or has provided assurance services within the public and social sector domain.
As an Associate Director in the Risk Consulting team, you will actively lead the growth of our Change & Programme Assurance services within the public and social sector. You will be responsible for overseeing risk-based programme/project assurance engagements to a range of clients in these sectors. You will work closely with clients and be committed to providing exceptional programme/project assurance services.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategies to expand our presence in the public and social sector.
* Lead the delivery of project/programme assurance engagements across the whole project lifecycle, ensuring they are completed on time, and to the highest standards.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* Identify new business opportunities and lead on development of proposals.
* Coach and mentor staff delivering project/programme assurance engagements, providing on-the-job supervision.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive experience of delivering project and programme assurance reviews within the public and social sector.
* Strong understanding and application of relevant frameworks and guidance including HM Treasury The Green Book, HM Government Functional Standard GovS 002 as well as the Infrastructure and Projects Authority.
* A project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) is preferable.
* Preferable to hold either ACA, CA, ACCA, IIA or CII (or equivalent) qualification.
* Ideally, infrastructure project experience, IT system project experience, Transformation Programme experience (PS or otherwise).
* Ideally, experience in working internationally would be an advantage.
* Strong understanding of the end-to-end project management lifecycle, including project delivery methodologies such as waterfall and agile, key risks and challenges, and technical issues in risk and change assurance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and presentation abilities.
* Experience of managing, training and coaching staff, sharing expertise, offering meaningful feedback and proactively supporting the development of others.
* Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge.
* Proven relationship leader and established networker, beginning to develop a network of client contacts and wider market connections.
* Ability to develop new initiatives and methodologies, identify issues through sound analysis, and apply commercial acumen in all situations.
* Takes ownership of projects, effectively delegates to others within the team and takes responsibility for quality control.
