We provide support across various universities for students with disabilities, including hearing and visual impairments, physical disabilities, and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). We are looking for the right individuals to support our students and make a difference in their higher education careers.
As a study assistant, you will support students in developing their independence and autonomy in higher education. You will also assist students in assessing the teaching and learning environments of the university.

Pay Rate: GBP17 per hour
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and reassurance for students adapting to the academic demands of higher education.
2. Help the student maintain their motivation.
3. Assist students with the transition to university by helping them understand the routine of university life.
4. Support building independence and communication with peers and staff.
5. Assist students in implementing strategies to manage their workload, organization, and time management.
6. Liaise with Randstad (and the Disability support team, where appropriate) regarding student progress or any matters concerning a student's support needs or well-being.
Requirements:
1. Degree or equivalent qualification
2. Knowledge of Higher Education
3. Understanding of the barriers that disabled people may experience in higher education
4. Enhanced level of skill and experience working with disabled people
5. Ability to work independently
6. Attention to detail
7. Commitment to principles of equality of opportunity
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
9. Flexibility and punctuality
10. Good organizational skills
11. Understanding of confidentiality issues
12. Understanding of role boundaries
