CHEF MANAGER/CATERING MANAGER
Salary : Grade 10, Point 27-30, £37,035 - £39,513 (pro rata £32,131 - £34,281)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri, term time only plus 5 days (39 weeks)
Term: Permanent
Responsible to: Director of Business & Finance
Start: January 2025
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager/Catering Manager to join our thriving school from January 2025. The school operates its’ own in-house catering service and applicants should have 2-3 years’ experience of providing catering services within a large scale catering operation, together with relevant catering qualifications. Experience of line managing and co-ordinating a team of catering staff is essential to ensure that the appropriate level of service can be provided to a population of approximately 1450 students.
This is an important position in the school structure, managing a catering service which not only provides high quality meals, but also considers issues such as healthy eating as an important part of what the school catering service offers. The post holder will be central to ensuring that the team of six catering staff are effectively led and organised in order to produce and maintain high standards of food hygiene, quality and presentation.
The person appointed will also have the scope to develop the catering service and how it can best serve the school community. This may require a creative approach combined with flexibility and determination.
Applicants should be educated to Level 3 standard or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience.
The person appointed will be confident, well organised and an effective communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues at different levels and a commitment to the work of the school.
