The Role
As the Chief Executive, you will be the strategic leader, advocate, and operational manager of the Group. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the Group's strategic vision, driving membership growth and retention, and enhancing our influence within the industry.
2. Advocacy and Policy Influence: Represent branded suppliers in policy discussions, engage with government bodies, and influence policy in favour of our members.
3. Membership Engagement: Foster strong relationships with existing members, attract new members, and provide valuable industry insights.
4. Operational Management: Oversee day–to–day operations, manage staff, budgets, and resources, and ensure efficient delivery of services.
5. Event Management: Organise key events such as the annual Brands Lecture and the academic symposium with Oxford University.
6. Commercial Growth: Drive the commercial growth of the Group through expanding our membership, by identifying new revenue streams and enhancing existing ones to ensure long–term sustainability.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Group's Council and other stakeholders to align activities with member needs and industry trends.
8. Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and develop financial strategies to support growth and sustainability.
9. Innovation and Adaptation: Stay abreast of industry trends, integrate new ideas, and encourage a culture of innovation within the organisation.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Proven leadership and management experience, preferably within the FMCG or membership association sectors.
2. Strong background in policy work, particularly in (but not limited to) fair trading practices.
3. Excellent communication and networking skills.
4. Financial and commercial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, ensuring profitability and driving growth.
5. A passion for the branded goods sector and an understanding of its challenges and opportunities.
