Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Responsibilities
* Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Help with the cooking process under the guidance of chefs or cooks.
* Support catering operations by preparing meals for events and functions.
* Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
* Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is highly desirable.
* Basic culinary skills, including meal preparation techniques.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.
* Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
