Learning Support Assistant Full Time Fareham Start Date - TBC Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism and helping them thrive in their education? A secondary school in Fareham is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This role involves working within the school’s Resourced Provision for identified students, as well as supporting students with autism in mainstream classrooms. Role Details: This is a maternity cover position with the start date and duration to be confirmed. The potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. The role is for 34 hours per week, during term time plus 1 additional week. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with autism, addressing their social, emotional, communication, and language needs. Assist in both the Resourced Provision and classroom settings, ensuring students feel included and supported in their learning. Develop trusting relationships with students to foster their confidence and independence. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support team members to deliver effective interventions. Adapt approaches to suit individual student needs, encouraging positive engagement and progress. What We Are Looking For: Previous experience working with young people with autism or a strong understanding of autism and how it impacts learning. Patience, resilience, and a good sense of humour. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build relationships with staff and students. A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting student learning and well-being.
