Assistant Manager for Pre-Loved Luxury Goods Retail Store in our Cheshire Oaks location

Reporting to: Operations Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of multifaceted skills revolving around the running of the store, developing operations, monitoring success, and managing all sales staff and store sales.
You will oversee the overall operations of the store, ensuring efficient and effective functioning to meet business goals and customer satisfaction. This includes monitoring success, managing staff, optimizing processes, and maintaining high standards of performance and service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management and Development:
o Create and maintain a positive work environment consistent with Designer Exchange’s behaviours.
o Build trust and rapport so the team respects you as a strong, fair, reliable leader.
o Provide a clear vision of the goals for the overall team and for individuals.
o Identify, attract, recruit, develop, and retain talent.
o Create and monitor development plans for store management and teams, driving professional growth through ongoing training and coaching.
o Supervise store staff including sales associates and other support personnel.
2. Operational Efficiency:
o Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.
o Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize stock loss.
o Oversee store maintenance and cleanliness to uphold a safe and inviting environment for both customers and staff.
o Develop and maintain strong business relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
o Define, execute, and monitor the shop floor action plan to achieve sales targets and KPIs through enticing and regularly changing visual merchandising.
o Understand and monitor the local business environment including market trends and competition.
3. Brand Promotion:
o Act as a Designer Exchange Ambassador, sustaining and promoting the culture of the brand.
o Ensure Designer Exchange client experiences are executed and consistent over time.
o Lead by example, conveying Designer Exchange’s behaviours towards clients.
o Familiarize yourself with clients and prospects to define action plans.
o Attract and recruit new clients from personal network and external partners.
o Develop a clienteling mindset for all staff and focus on client loyalty and retention.
4. Process Management:
o Ensure all processes comply with legal, safety, security, internal requirements, sustainability, and HR guidelines.
o Conduct HR meetings, including performance evaluations and conflict resolutions.
o Align with the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ensure team adherence.
o Ensure execution of retail excellence guidelines in the store.
o Challenge and improve current processes to sustain growth and ensure efficiency.
5. Business Management:
o Manage sales metrics such as conversation rate, UPT, and transactions.
o Monitor team performance metrics including sales productivity and staff satisfaction.
o Manage budgets, expenses, and financial reports to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
o Implement measures to control shrinkage and optimize profit margins.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year
