Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Freelance Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality instruction in English and Mathematics to learners of various ages and backgrounds. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a critical role in helping learners achieve the essential skills needed for personal development, further education, and employment. We only require adhoc delivery and this could range from a weekly session on Maths and English and adhoc fast track 1 to 2 week delivery sessions to our apprentices. Job Type: Freelance, Zero hours contract Location: Wembley, North West London Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday Key Responsibilities: Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Functional Skills English and Mathematics, tailored to the needs and abilities of individual learners. Assessment and Feedback: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to track learners' progress. Provide constructive feedback and support to help learners achieve their full potential. Curriculum Development: Develop and adapt teaching materials and resources that cater to a range of learning styles and levels. Ensure all content is up-to-date and aligned with the Functional Skills curriculum. Individualized Learning Plans: Create and implement personalized learning plans to address each learner's specific needs, ensuring they are engaged, motivated, and progressing toward their goals. Support and Guidance: Offer academic and pastoral support to learners, including advice on study skills, time management, and exam preparation. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learners’ attendance, progress, and outcomes. Prepare reports and communicate regularly with learners, parents, or guardians as needed. Compliance: Ensure all teaching practices comply with relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Recognised teaching qualification. Minimum Level 3 qualification in English, Mathematics. Proven experience teaching Functional Skills in English and Mathematics to a range of learners. Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessment requirements. Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse learner needs. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Desirable: Experience working with learners from diverse backgrounds, including those with additional learning needs. Experience in remote or online teaching. Familiarity with virtual learning environments (VLEs) and digital teaching tools. Personal Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to teaching. Ability to inspire and motivate learners. Commitment to continuous professional development.
