Senior Risk Governance Manager – CIO
National salary: up to £75,000
London salary: up to £90,000

We have a great opportunity for someone to work across our CIO functions and CIO markets, supporting them in the management of their risk and control environment. This is a great job for someone with a good understanding of IT, Cyber risk and control frameworks looking to expand their risk governance knowledge working for the UK's leading Insurance, Wealth and Retirement business!
A bit about the job:
Within this role, you will provide 1st line support, oversight, and challenge across our CIO markets and Group CIO functions. You will be part of the CIO Risk & Assurance team, leading the review of the IT, Cyber, Group Procurement, and Operational Resilience control environment to protect our customers and deliver our Risk Goals.
You will:
* Lead Market/Functional SME input, guidance, and challenge to ensure compliance with the internal control framework and quality application of it; whilst building the understanding of IT, Cyber, Group Procurement, and Operational Resilience risk and controls.
* Lead risk and control debate (including reporting and forward view) at functional SLTs.
* Use insight, data, and SME opinion to effectively challenge risk assessments, control positions, issue and action remediation, and risk events.
* Develop strong relationships with risk, control, and issue owners to provide regular coaching on internal control framework standard methodology, to ensure consistency and correct application.
* Work with all three lines of defense to ensure effective management of issues and alignment on the strength of the control environment, including support to audit reviews in the functions.
* Lead and drive forward group-wide risk and control improvement activities which require coordination across Group CIO functions and CIO markets.
* Provide inputs and reporting into central forums and Group CIO function and CIO market forms where required.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Thorough understanding of effective operational risk management.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to adapt style and influence all levels of business, including senior management.
* Excellent written communication skills – the ability to collate and summarise information in plain English and tailor your written communication to suit the audience is key.
* Awareness of IT and Security governance models and standards e.g. COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001.
* Awareness of Third-Party Risk and Change Management frameworks and governance.

* National salary up to £75,000, London salary up to £90,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
